Saturday Morning Cartoon-a-thon 12

The 60's - a great time to be a kid. Especially Saturday mornings.

Cartoons! Cartoons! And more cartoons! It was the best of times.
I would watch cartoons until Mom turned off the set and told me to get out and play with my friends.

Some mornings I might be lucky enough and watch cartoons until noon. Ahh! Bliss!

Sinch up the belt on your pajama bottoms, grab your cereal bowl, and head into the living room.
Time to spend the next few hours watching your favourite cartoons.

Yakky Doodle — 1961 video

Bartholomew Woods comment:

Cartoon:  Yakky Doodle
Episode:  Out of Luck Duck
Airdate:  January 30, 1961

Synopsis:  Unable to keep up with the other migrating ducks, Yakky falls into Chopper's water dish and meets the bulldog for the first time.

TV Ads — Pepsi People

As a kid I watched many great television shows. This included TV commercials as well.
Back in my day there were no TV remotes or mute buttons.
Many ads had unforgettable slogans, memorable characters or catchy jingles.

If you grew up in the 1960's and 1970's these commercials may come immediately to mind. I found that I was able to sing along with them even though I hadn't seen them for decades. Maybe you will too?

"PEPSI PEOPLE"
video

Bartholomew Woods comment:
A Pepsi Ad from the mid-70's. Pepsi ads were always entertaining to watch, but they never swayed Bartholomew.
He was, and always will be, a true disciple of Coca-Cola.

My Mom drank Coke, Blazer Don drank Coke. So did Bart.

Beatlemania!

I had a total of eighteen Beatles albums in my record collection.
The LP's listed below have links to the songs from each album.

My chance to re-visit and re-live the fabulous music I used to listen to in the confines of my bedroom.

Click on bold title link to listen to your favourite Beatles song.
All music hosted on — flashback.

My goal is to re-create my entire Beatles collection on this post.
When composing future blog entries, I will visit this page and pretend I'm a teenager once again, listening to my favourite LP's on my Viking stereo turntable in my bedroom.  Yea Mom, I'll close the door!
